When: Sunday June 23rd, 10am-1pm

Where: Milltown State Park Overlook, Google Maps Location:

Come connect to a landscape that overlooks a long history of varied relationship in the Missoula Valley. The flowing confluence of the bClark For and Blackfoot Rivers, the mill, the interstate. This a beautiful space to sit, connect and reflect with our more than human surroundings. We hope you will join us.

Herbalism has long standing traditions of apprenticeship and learning from elders, and many is the modern day herbalist who has wished that they just had a wise old grandma whose gnarled hands and big heart could guide them in learning the ways of the local plants. Blessed are those who receive this literal handed-down wisdom!

For those of us who have never had the joy of learning in this way, we seek out learning in other ways. Classes. Herbal programs. Sighing over Robin Wall Kimmerer.

What we want to offer you here is the kind of thing your herbal grandma would have told you to do. Because the knowledge of renowned herbalists and respected elders ultimately hasn't come from people.

It has come from plants.

We deeply believe that everyone has the capacity to receive guidance and wisdom from our plant community and want to support anyone who is interested in honing this ability. We will be coming together in the woods to flex our intuitive muscles in listening to plants. We'll start with intros and flow into a few exercises and conversations that will address common road blocks that can arise for folks. Using prompts and visualization, we'll then be putting our practice into action by sitting as a group with one plant and seeing what learning arises. Afterwards there will be space to collectively share and harvest this wisdom for the betterment of our community.

Feel free to bring a journal, blanket, and a snack to share if you feel called.

This offering is near and dear to our hearts and is something we have been dreaming up bringing to you all for awhile. Our intention is to offer this monthly throughout the season.

Become the wise, old, plant-loving person with gnarled hands.
